UNCLE is an intimate documentary portrait of Uncle Jason Coombes – a proud Gunai/Kurnai man, queer elder, nurse and drag performer – as he moves between Country, family, care work and performance.
Across remote communities, suburban homes and queer spaces, Uncle Jason reflects on identity, belonging and the many families he has known across a lifetime. Through moments of humour, loss and joy, the film celebrates care, kinship and self-determination, offering a tender portrait of a man walking many worlds and the quiet negotiations required to navigate them.
